About The Position

The EH&S Manager is responsible for overseeing all environmental, health, and safety programs at our Oklahoma City plant. This includes ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, conducting training, and managing incident response. The EH&S Manager must be available via phone or in person for any incidents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years in the Occupational Safety field, preferably within manufacturing or the paper industry.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides and Gmail).
  • Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001/2000, EMS 14001) and relevant environmental compliance (air permits, wastewater, stormwater, spill prevention, Tier II, and TRI reporting).

  • OSHA Certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safety Program Management: Develop, implement, and oversee company-wide safety programs. Lead safety inspections, meetings, and training sessions.
  • Incident Management: Report and investigate safety incidents. Involve appropriate personnel and maintain thorough documentation.
  • Training & Orientation: Conduct safety training for new hires and ensure ongoing training for all employees. Lead specialized programs, such as the Hearing Conservation Program.
  • Medical Response: Provide first aid, coordinate transport to medical facilities, monitor care, and manage the light duty program.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulations. Prepare and maintain required reports, including OSHA logs, and handle communications with regulatory bodies.
  • Environmental Compliance: Work with site management and the Corporate Environmental Department to maintain compliance with environmental laws and regulations. Conduct inspections, sampling, and monitoring. Prepare environmental reports, including air emissions inventories, wastewater discharge, and hazardous chemical inventories.
  • Facility Management: Oversee fire protection systems, conduct inspections, and provide necessary training. Maintain environmental records and manage the Environmental Management and Information System (EMIS).
  • Liaison Role: Serve as the liaison between the site and corporate for policy updates, safety issues, and environmental compliance. Communicate with government agencies as required.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
