About The Position

The key role of the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Coordinator is to support compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and provide leadership that creates and promotes a safety driven culture within our organization.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects/priorities at the same time while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Provide after-hours support as necessary.
  • B.S. in Environmental Science; Industrial Hygiene; or equivalent degree. (5 years experience in EHS will be accepted in lieu of B.S)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct incident investigation, root cause analysis, and assist with developing corrective actions.
  • In conjunction with Operations Team conduct Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Maintain regular and routine presence on the production floor and actively engage with employees to promote a safe working environment.
  • Conduct employee training on a wide range of EHS topics.
  • Conduct new hire on-boarding training.
  • Conduct production floor hands on training.
  • Support managers, supervisors, and workers on methods to foster and monitor a positive and effective EHS culture.
  • Facilitate injury response.
  • Participate in injury reporting and management.
  • Ensure that proper PPE and emergency response equipment is available.
  • Coordinate hazardous and universal waste program.
  • Create and update standard operating procedures.
  • Schedule/coordinate industrial hygiene testing.
  • Ensure that Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are maintained and readily accessible.
  • Ensure proper chemical approval, handling, labelling, and storage.
  • Coordinate workplace inspection activities to monitor the presence and use of hazard controls.
  • Support monitoring and measurement of EHS performance.
  • Communicate and engage with employees at all levels to identify and mitigate risk while optimizing worker health and safety.
  • Contribute to monitoring of employees and contractors’ personnel and their compliance with EHS requirements.
  • Performs administrative duties for the EHS department including but not limited to general data entry and filing of training records, compliance documentation, and other EH&S records.
