Requirements

  • Associate degree in safety, environmental science, or related field.
  • Two years of EHS, Manufacturing, Quality, or Maintenance roles a plus.
  • Working knowledge of core EHS areas including LOTO, Machine Guarding, Powered Industrial Trucks, Fall Protection, HazCom, and Hot Work.
  • Competence in MS Office products and Windows-based computer applications.
  • Passionate about safety, operations, and related processes, with a professional presentation style.
  • Positive attitude with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Hands-on, mechanically inclined, and highly organized with excellent prioritization skills.
  • Ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds, mount & dismount equipment, capable of walking, climbing and bending for periods of time, and be comfortable working in hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Environmental Science or related field
  • OSHA 10-Hour General Industry certification, OSHA 30-Hour strongly preferred.
  • Additional certifications (HAZWOPER, First Aid/CPR, forklift safety).
  • Experience in heavy industry or steel processing environments.
  • Experienced in conducting EHS training and/or public speaking.
  • Experienced working with powered industrial truck operation.
  • Internship, co-op, or student chapter experience in EHS or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled EHS tasks to maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulations.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
  • Collaborate with shop floor associates and supervisors to identify and remediate safety hazards and compliance concerns.
  • Manage the plant safety observation system to ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and follow-up on corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver classroom and hands-on EHS training (e.g., PPE, HazCom, Lockout/Tagout, Powered Industrial Trucks).
  • Operate and calibrate industrial hygiene and safety monitoring equipment (air monitors, noise dosimeters, gas detectors).
  • Support emergency response efforts, including drills, spill response, and first aid/CPR programs.
  • Coordinate waste handling, labeling, and disposal in compliance with environmental standards.
  • Monitor and communicate established EHS metrics, sustainability goals, and continuous improvement projects.
  • Participate in corporate EHS assessments across multiple locations.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records for inspections, training, incidents, and regulatory filings.
  • Recognize and promote positive safety behaviors in alignment with the Majestic Safety Commitment.
  • Engage in operational initiatives including Safety, Sustainability, 6S, Reliability, and Quality projects.
  • Research regulatory requirements, industry standards, and EHS best practices to support compliance and risk reduction.
  • Perform other job-related duties and special projects as assigned
