About The Position

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist I - Jupiter, FL. The Department of Environmental Health and Safety aims to provide and ensure a safe and healthy environment for the FAU Community through comprehensive service. The Environment, Health, and Safety Specialist I position is a critical role that promotes a culture of safety, sustainability, and well-being within Florida Atlantic University. Summary of Responsibilities: Support the EH&S fire safety program, hazardous materials, and general EH&S operations. Responds to hazardous materials requirements for laboratories. Liaison with State Fire Marshal and coordination of SFM inspections of facilities and construction sites. Responds to fire alarms and coordinates corrective actions for fire safety deficiencies. Responsible for record keeping, training, equipment maintenance, EH&S facilities, and vehicle maintenance. Work on special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma and four years of appropriate experience required.
  • Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
