About The Position

The EHS Lead is responsible for owning all day-to-day Environmental, Health & Safety compliance and programs at the Brenham site, ensuring adherence to OSHA and local regulations, driving a proactive safety culture, and supporting operational excellence. This role operates semi - independently on local compliance and risk management while aligning strategically with the UK-based Head of EHS to ensure consistency with global standards and corporate objectives.

Requirements

  • BS Degree or 5+ years of hands on experience in an EHS role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EHS Programs, including incident investigation, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, material handling safety, machine guarding, and permitting for air and wastewater.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years’ experience in a machine intensive manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHMM, ALCM, OSHA 501-GIS or similar preferred
  • Experience with 5S and continuous improvement processes preferred.
  • Experience with GenSuite preferred

Responsibilities

  • Policy & Program Development: Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS policies, procedures, and training programs to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local safety regulations by monitoring legislation and advising leadership on necessary actions.
  • Risk Assessment & Hazard Control: Lead hazard identification and risk assessment processes, including Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), ergonomic evaluations, and PPE assessments.
  • Audit & Corrective Action Management: Oversee EHS audits and inspections, coordinate corrective actions, and track resolution of findings to maintain compliance.
  • Data & Metrics Management: Manage EHS data systems and reporting tools, ensuring accurate tracking of safety metrics and performance indicators.
  • Leadership Communication: Provide regular EHS performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Sustainability & Environmental Stewardship: Guide the development and execution of environmental and sustainability initiatives in alignment with corporate ESG goals.
  • Safety Culture & Engagement: Champion a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, communication strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Training & Onboarding: Conduct safety onboarding for all new hires and ensure completion of all OSHA-required annual safety trainings across the organization.
  • Incident Investigation & Prevention: Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • OSHA Standards Compliance: Maintain compliance with OSHA standards, including Hazard Communication and chemical safety requirements.
  • Hazardous Waste Management: Oversee hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, including proper storage, disposal, and documentation.
  • Safety Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and maintenance of safety systems such as fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and emergency showers.
  • Facilities Collaboration: Collaborate with Facilities and Operations teams during repairs, installations, and inspections to ensure safety compliance.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Serve as the emergency coordinator for hazardous waste incidents and support emergency preparedness efforts.
