A Day in the Life The EHS Manager at Medtronic’s Peripheral Vascular manufacturing site in Plymouth, Minnesota plays a critical leadership role in advancing a strong safety culture within a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. This role provides site level ownership of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, partnering closely with operations, engineering, and site leadership to ensure compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement aligned with Medtronic’s mission and global EHS standards. The EHS Manager will lead the implementation of EHS strategies, regulatory compliance, and employee engagement initiatives to support safe, sustainable, and efficient operations. This position requires a hands-on leader who can influence functions, balance operational priorities with EHS excellence, and serve as a trusted advisor in enabling business success while protecting employees, the community, and the environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR An advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting medical device, regulated manufacturing, or advanced component/battery operations
  • Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and Minnesota EHS regulations beyond baseline compliance
  • Familiarity with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems
  • Experience leading or supporting site audits, inspections, and corrective action programs
  • Demonstrated success driving behavior‑based safety or employee engagement initiatives
  • Ability to analyze incident data and lead root cause investigations and risk assessments
  • Prior exposure to corporate EHS standards within a global or matrixed organization
  • Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) or progress toward certification
  • Certifications preferred include First Aid, CPR and AED, Laser Safety Officer
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Responsibilities

  • Champions a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee engagement, learning from incidents, and sharing best practices.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking by aligning EHS initiatives with business objectives and long-term site and enterprise goals
  • Develops, administers and implements environmental, health, and safety programs in accordance with governmental requirements.
  • Provide leadership with knowledge and skills to successfully manage workers' compensation programs.
  • Reviews and analyzes environmental documentation issued by regulatory agencies; collaborates with regulatory agencies to determine corrective action plans.
  • Evaluates proposed regulations to determine financial, industrial, public, safety, and environmental impact.
  • Interacts with regulatory bodies to resolve compliance issues; establish permit requirements and assist in regulatory audits.
  • Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where environmental, health, and safety hazards exist.
  • Identifies and takes corrective action against activities that pose potential threats to workers’ health or safety, which may include recommending organizational measures to protect workers’ safety through revised methods, processes, or materials; inspecting workplace environments, equipment, and/or practices to ensure compliance with standards and regulations; and investigating and/or identifying causes regarding filed incidents.
  • Provide/promote employee awareness/training on environmental, health, and safety.
