About The Position

The Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator will implement policies to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. This role involves conducting regular facility inspections to identify safety, health, and environmental risks, documenting findings, and uploading reports into the EHS system. The coordinator will develop and implement inspection policies and procedures, establish a schedule of routine inspections, and create health and safety procedures for all areas of the company. Key responsibilities include planning, preparing, and delivering monthly training sessions on emergency procedures and workplace safety, monitoring compliance with safety procedures, and maintaining Safety Data Sheets (SDS). The position also participates in incident and accident investigations, conducts 5-Why analyses, and reports DART injuries in coordination with Corporate EHS and insurance providers. The coordinator will establish and maintain relationships with local urgent care facilities for return-to-work and light-duty restrictions, collaborate with HR on tracking monthly hours and onboarding new employees on safety policies, and work with Supervisors and Maintenance on machine guarding, new equipment implementations, and weekly toolbox talks. This role is also a member of the employee safety committee.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
  • Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections
  • Able to perform prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Responsibilities
