Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the primary responsibilities of the EHS Coordinator are to foster a safe workplace environment by advancing environmental, health and safety performance improvements in support of regulatory requirements and Milkco policies.

Requirements

  • Completion of post-secondary education in the field of occupational health and safety, a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Must want to work and have excellent attendance.
  • Need to be cooperative and able to get along with a lot of people.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to contribute in a team atmosphere
  • Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening (provided by Milkco).
  • Will conduct a Criminal Background Check.
  • Must pass an E-Verify Screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Ammonia Refrigeration (PSM/PHA/RMP) desired.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, and deliver training programs in a manner that raises employee’s awareness and enables employees and supervisors to work safely
  • Review and update EHS policies and procedures as needed
  • Ensure safety guidelines, procedures and policies are followed.
  • Conduct facility inspections and audits.
  • Conduct onsite drills (Fire, Weather, Hazard Release, Security Events).
  • Conduct incident investigations and help develop corrective and preventative actions.
  • Maintain documentation requirements per OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor and remain up-to-date on regulatory requirements (EPA, OSHA, NC Dept. of Labor).
  • Manage storm water and waste water program and ensure proper reporting through MSD.
  • Oversee development and growth of site safety committee.
  • Responsible for submitting TIER II, TRI, and other yearly requirements.
  • Ensure proper personal protective equipment (PPE) is available to personnel.
  • Responsible for handling Workers’ Compensation claims.
