Our Northeast Division is seeking a dynamic Environmental Field Scientist to join our Woburn, MA office. Our work spans a diverse portfolio of civil, environmental, water resources, and traffic/transportation projects, all within a fast‑paced, collaborative, and engaging work environment that encourages growth and impact.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Environmental Science, or related field, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • 2+ years of experience in the Industrial Hygiene / Hazardous Building Materials industry.
  • Asbestos, Lead, and/or 40‑hr HAZWOPER certification required
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and technical writing skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a strong safety mindset and record of safe work practices.
  • Willingness to conduct asbestos, lead, and mold surveys, remediation monitoring, exposure monitoring, and specialized industrial hygiene projects.
  • Ability to work in fast‑paced environments, various weather conditions, climb stairs/ladders, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel up to 90% regionally and work nights or weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license, good driving history, and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to wear a respirator, safety harness, and required PPE.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in MS Office and other commonly used computer programs preferred.
  • Familiarity with State Superfund and applicable federal and state regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hazardous materials surveys, including asbestos, lead-based paint, mold, and other materials.
  • Provide oversight of contaminated site remediation and hazardous building materials abatement.
  • Prepare field notes, photographs, and perform analysis and interpretation of field and analytical data.
  • Prepare technical reports and conduct ASTM Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
  • Support emergency response services, communicate and collaborate with others, manage workloads and records, implement health & safety policies, and travel.
