Our Northeast Division is seeking a dynamic Environmental Field Scientist to join our Quincy, MA, Providence, RI or Woburn, MA office. Requirements

  • BA/BS in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and other commonly used computer applications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and maintaining a strong safety record.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in a similar environmental or field‑based role is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid technical writing ability with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to navigate job sites, including walking, standing, and ascending or descending stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • Willingness to travel up to 90% regionally.
  • Availability for night and weekend work(infrequent)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous Massachusetts MCP experience preferred.
  • 40‑hour HAZWOPER certification preferred; familiarity with federal and state regulations a plus.
  • Experience with Deltek Vision preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collect field samples of soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water, and drinking water.
  • Provide oversight of site investigation and characterization, as well as contaminated site remediation.
  • Prepare field notes, photographs, and perform analysis and interpretation of field and analytical data.
  • Prepare technical reports and conduct ASTM Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
  • Support emergency response services, communicate and collaborate with others, manage workloads and records, implement health & safety policies, and travel extensively.
