About The Position

SCS Engineers is looking for a summer 2026 intern for our Miami, FL office. This opportunity offers valuable hands-on experience in both technical and environmental business operations through a diverse range of client projects while giving you the chance to explore the beginnings of your own career path. As an intern, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals on projects centered around soil and groundwater remediation, brownfield redevelopment, site development, and sustainability projects. You will typically work 40 hours per week. Interns will receive hands-on learning in the field 75-80% of the time in the South Florida area.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree civil, environmental or geological engineering, geology or environmental science and graduating by June 2028 required. Candidates going into senior year are preferred.
  • Must be willing to live in the Miami area for Summer 2026 (housing will not be provided).
  • Solid computer skills and a willingness to learn new tools and develop technical skills through hands-on project experience.
  • Previous leadership experience required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Great attention to detail and solid judgment.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required.
  • Ability to travel overnight for work outside of the SCS office required.
  • Please note that we do not hire international students for our internships.

  • Gas Monitoring
  • Construction Oversight/Inspections
  • Laboratory data management and review
