Verdantas is seeking an Environmental Engineer Intern to join our collaborative team and gain hands-on experience in solving real-world environmental challenges. This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside engineers, geologists, and scientists on impactful projects, contributing to fieldwork, data analysis, and technical design. Requirements
- Junior or Senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Sciences
- Relevant courses related to principles of environmental engineering, geology, or similar
- Proficient in MS Office products
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Able to conduct some fieldwork with occasional heavy lifting
- Must be able to write effectively and articulate outcomes to clients and team members
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training
Nice To Haves
- Internship or coop experience
- Experience in ArcGIS and AutoCAD
- Affiliation and/or certifications with professional associations and networking capabilities
Responsibilities
- Assist with fieldwork (e.g., sampling of various media, site inspections, and in a support role for field engineers/geologists/scientists)
- Research, collect, and enter data, and apply technical principles to assist in interpreting and analyzing data
- Assist in preparing engineering-related calculations, designs, plans, and conceptual models
- Perform preliminary human health and ecological risk calculations and modeling
- Assist with environmental assessments
- Prepare technical reports
- The position may include travel
