About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Civil/Environmental Engineer II to join our team! The successful candidate will support and/or lead engineering assessments and other related activities for a variety of remedial design and construction projects ranging from the initial investigation phases through the final stages of remedial implementation and long-term management, collaborating with different project teams within our Environmental Practice group. Our extensive experience in this field combined with your environmental engineering experience with in-situ remediation technologies will propel your career forward. We need our engineers at this level to apply experience and increasing proficiency in the use of technical theories, practices, and company policies. Performs conventional and moderately-complex engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses within a discipline. The Engineer at this level is proficient in the utilization of standard engineering theories and practices, and Company procedures. Willingness to travel to client, or construction site locations, is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and approximately 5+ years of related work experience is required.
  • Professional Engineer registration strongly preferred, or ability to obtain within 2 years.
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills.
  • Strong independent work ethic, flexibility to adapt to rapidly shifting client priorities, and agility/eagerness to lead challenging and unique projects and assignments.
  • Practical experience with in situ Chemical Oxidations (ISCO), in situ bioremediation (ISBR), air sparge/soil vapor extraction, and other in situ treatment technologies.
  • Thorough understanding of soil, groundwater, and soil vapor sampling as well as environmental rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Completes a variety of assignments such as preparing technical reports, design drawings, technical specifications for procurement and construction, technical presentations, leading meetings, and developing work products for client and regulatory agency reviews.
  • Ability to collaborate and cross-sell within Parsons’ other engineering groups
  • Reviews contract submittals and performs technical bid analyses.
  • Prepares engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and surveys.
  • Provides technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and junior-level Engineers working on the same project.
  • Works with project managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
  • Ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in these plans.
  • Technical support to Project teams including regulatory/permitting/compliance.
  • Provide technical support and leadership/mentorship to junior staff.
  • May act in an advisory capacity to senior management personnel on engineering related matters.
