This summer position is perfect for college students interested in environmental or science education who want hands-on, real world experience while making a meaningful impact in a beautiful garden setting. As an intern, you’ll play a key role in our nature-based summer camps for children ages 4–11, engaging campers in learning experiences that foster curiosity, a deeper connection to the natural world, and a love for science. Interns support staff educators in delivering joyful, developmentally appropriate programs in both indoor and outdoor learning environments. Learn more about Camp Flytrap. As an intern, you will: · Assist camp staff in preparing for and leading nature-based learning activities, including hands-on exploration, games, stories, and arts/crafts for groups of up to 14 campers · Help set up and break down camp materials daily to ensure smooth camp operations · Support the physical and emotional safety of campers in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment · Assist with maintaining indoor and outdoor learning spaces · Build knowledge of North Carolina native plants, animals, and habitats · Develop practical skills in lesson planning, group management, and environmental education best practices
