Michels’ operations and field crews depend on support from our in-house Environmental Department with environmental/regulatory experts to advance our operations and critical infrastructure projects. As an Environmental Coordinator, your key responsibility will be to coordinate and maintain Michels’ environmental program. This position will focus on proactive environmental field compliance and risk management (e.g., air, water, waste, biodiversity) for Michels operations and our construction projects. You will review scopes of work, draft construction permits and compliance plans, collect and analyze multi-media sampling, perform environmental observations and audits, and track and manage regulatory reporting requirements. The salary range for this position is $72,000 - $101,000 annually. This information reflects the expected base salary range for this position. Pay will be determined based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Why Michels? Requirements

  • Prefer Bachelor or Associate degree with emphasis in environmental studies, natural sciences, engineering, or related field. Advanced training or education in Environmental or Technical Field, with equivalent years may be acceptable.
  • 1-5 years of environmental compliance or related construction experience.
  • Knowledgeable with environmental construction compliance topics and applicable regulations, including but not limited to storm water best management, process water control, waste storage and disposal, general air compliance, and fuel storage.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. With strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different audience types both in-person and using technology (e.g. PowerPoint, TEAMS).
  • Data review and trend analysis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite required, with preference for Advanced Excel expertise.
  • Travel 30% to 60% in West US states.
  • A valid driver’s license for the type(s) of vehicles you may be driving and an acceptable driving record.

  • Preference with experience in ArcGIS.
