About The Position

Our By Light team, the premier provider of innovative Information Technology (IT) services and communications support to the Department of Defense and Federal Agencies is growing. We’re increasing our team to support the US Army Comprehensive Modernization (COMPMOD). The program includes conducting survey and design, engineer, furnish, install, secure, and test (EFIS&T) solutions to include non-secure internet protocol router (NIPR), secure internet protocol router (SIPR), Wi-Fi, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Inside Plant (ISP), Outside Plant (OSP), and Voice Modernization at U.S. Army Base/Post/Camp/Station (B/P/C/S) across the Continental United States (CONUS). We have an opening for an Environmental Compliance Specialist responsible for ensuring we are in compliance with environmental laws, regulations, standards and all license and certification requirements as well as Green Procurement requirements. Works to mitigate the environmental impacts of industrial activities, construction projects, and other operations. This role involves conducting environmental audits, preparing reports, and implementing compliance strategies. The specialist acts as a liaison between the program and the government, ensuring that all environmental policies are strictly followed. By maintaining compliance and promoting sustainable practices, the Environmental Compliance Specialist plays a pivotal role in protecting natural resources and maintaining public health standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in environmental compliance or a similar field
  • Professional certification such as Certified Environmental Professional (CEP)
  • Experience with environmental compliance software and databases
  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal environmental regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to conduct thorough environmental audits
  • Skills in preparing detailed and accurate reports
  • Knowledge of environmental health and safety standards
  • Willingness to stay updated with ongoing changes in environmental regulations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Active Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Conduct environmental audits and assessments
  • Compliance with License and certification requirements
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to proper leadership and regulatory agencies
  • Monitor and analyze environmental data to ensure adherence to regulations
  • Develop and implement environmental compliance programs
  • Advise management on environmental policies and best practices
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities during inspections and audits
  • Review and update environmental permits and licenses
  • Investigate environmental incidents, report immediately, and recommend corrective actions
  • Train staff on environmental regulations and compliance requirements
  • Stay current with changes in environmental laws and regulations
  • Ensure proper disposal of hazardous materials
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to design environmentally-friendly solutions
  • Maintain records of environmental compliance activities
