About The Position

Paragon Staffing is expanding its Environmental Services Division and is seeking an experienced Environmental Business Development Manager to lead growth in Maryland, with responsibility for opening new offices, hiring local teams, running jobs, and building regional operations. This role is designed for a proven environmental services professional who can drive new business development while also taking ownership of job execution, safety compliance, and early operational oversight. You will represent Paragon in the field, manage client relationships, and ensure successful delivery of projects utilizing HAZWOPER-certified technicians. You will work directly with executive leadership and have the authority to open regional offices, hire staff, and scale operations as the market develops.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in environmental services sales, environmental operations, or environmental staffing
  • Hands-on experience running environmental jobs or overseeing field operations strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and HAZWOPER requirements
  • Familiarity with remediation, industrial cleanup, emergency response, and safety-driven work environments
  • Demonstrated success launching or expanding new markets or territories
  • Experience hiring, building, and leading teams preferred
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable operating with autonomy and accountability
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to conduct in-person client and site visits
  • Business Development / Operations: 5+ years (environmental services preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Identify, prospect, and secure new clients within environmental services, remediation, industrial, and emergency response sectors
  • Lead Paragon’s Maryland market entry, including identifying target accounts, service lines, and growth opportunities
  • Develop long-term partnerships with environmental contractors, restoration firms, and industrial service providers
  • Own the full sales cycle from initial contact through contract execution and onboarding
  • Negotiate contracts, markups, and terms while protecting company interests
  • Run and oversee active jobs in new and existing markets, serving as the primary field and client contact during execution
  • Coordinate deployment of HAZWOPER-certified technicians
  • Ensure project schedules, staffing levels, and client expectations are met
  • Troubleshoot field issues in real time, including staffing adjustments and scope changes
  • Support emergency response deployments as needed
  • Ensure all projects comply with OSHA regulations, site-specific safety plans, and HAZWOPER standards
  • Confirm technicians meet required certifications
  • Serve as a knowledgeable safety and compliance resource for clients during onboarding and job execution
  • Open and establish new regional offices as market demand develops
  • Hire, onboard, and manage local sales, recruiting, and field leadership staff, in coordination with executive leadership
  • Build a scalable regional team aligned with Paragon’s safety, compliance, and performance standards
  • Support training, onboarding, and performance management for new hires
  • Represent Paragon at industry events, trade shows, and targeted networking opportunities
  • Identify market trends, regional demand, and service expansion opportunities
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership based on market performance
  • Support expansion into additional territories as the Environmental Services division scales
