Title: Environmental and Sustainability Intern [ EdgeConneX is looking for summer interns. This will be a paid, 10-week internship from June 1, 2026, to August 7, 2026 ] The Environmental Sustainability & Compliance Intern will support environmental programs across our U.S. facilities. This role provides hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, environmental data management, and corporate sustainability initiatives within a fast-paced technology environment. The intern will work alongside internal stakeholders to strengthen compliance systems and support operational sustainability goals. Pay: $23/hr

Requirements

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work with structured data (Excel tracking sheets, compliance matrices, document libraries)
  • Interest in environmental regulations, sustainability, or environmental engineering
  • Comfortable working in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and collaborative platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams)
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
  • Curiosity about emerging technologies and AI applications in business operations
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Actively enrolled in an undergraduate or Bachelor’s degree program in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field (Junior or Senior standing preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous project, class, or internship experience in regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, or corporate sustainability preferred

Responsibilities

  • Attend environmental compliance and sustainability team meetings, documenting key takeaways and tracking follow-up actions
  • Support maintenance of environmental compliance tracking tools and internal databases
  • Assist with organization and standardization of regulatory documentation and internal file systems
  • Help prepare summaries, dashboards, and presentations that communicate environmental compliance status and sustainability initiatives
  • Conduct regulatory and sustainability research to support new and existing facilities
  • Provide general support for environmental programs related to air, water, stormwater, and waste compliance
  • Assist with data collection and reporting activities tied to corporate sustainability goals
  • Support process improvement initiatives, including evaluation of workflow tools and emerging technologies
  • Contribute to special projects, including those using AI, that enhance operational efficiency within the Environmental Sustainability & Compliance team
