About The Position

The Environmental and Process Safety Professional is responsible for ensuring that the Silver Peak site is in compliance with all applicable regulations and corporate policies. Areas of responsibility include; (1) disposal and management of waste products, (2) reclamation of land disturbed by the operation, (3) compliance and mitigation of the sites impact to wildlife (4) control and mitigation of pollutants and effluents (Air/Water) that have an adverse impact on the natural environment, (5) management of special purpose grants and licenses to continue operation, (6) conducting root cause investigations and establishing corrective actions, (7) conducting internal audits, (8) conducting process hazard analysis, (9) assisting in managing a Management of Change system, (10) working with the HSE manager and corporate HSE to fill any gaps in knowledge of environmental management or process safety.

Requirements

  • Experience with MSHA or OSHA compliance
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, petroleum industry or mining
  • B.S. Technical Degree or sufficient experience in a comparable role

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with environmental compliance management, especially in the state of Nevada.
  • Expert level of knowledge pertaining to safety standards and best practices.
  • Experience with root cause investigation, process hazard analysis, management of change, and environmental or safety auditing.
  • Ability to lead and manage continuous improvement
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
