About The Position

The Env Svcs Wkr/Housekeeper position is responsible for cleaning duties to maintain a clean and aseptic environment throughout the hospital. The Env Svcs Wkr/Housekeeper position may be assigned to any one of several positions to include: patient areas cleaner, non-patient areas cleaner, trash technician, special care unit cleaner, and/or others positions as needed. Maintains a professional demeanor in accordance with the service excellence standards while interacting with patients, patient’s families, (including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) and coworkers.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and communicate in English both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions, and to record completed assignments
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Willingness to perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continual basis
  • Accept supervision from a number of persons
  • Perform tasks despite frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to perform tasks with due consideration to patients, staff and visitors to the vicinity.
  • Report any unsafe working conditions or hazards to management immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and servicing areas in building according to the assignments for that area.
  • Sweeping, mopping, dusting and disinfecting any and all rooms in the hospital.
  • Participating in project work that may include, but not limited to wall washing, window washing, cleaning light fixtures, cleaning upholstery, changing cubicle curtains and drapes, cleaning vents, scrubbing restrooms, floor stripping, carpet extracting, etc.
  • Perform routine, repetitive tasks on a continual basis
  • Accept supervision from a number of persons
  • Perform tasks despite frequent interruptions.
  • Perform tasks with due consideration to patients, staff and visitors to the vicinity.
  • Report any unsafe working conditions or hazards to management immediately.
