As a valuable part of our Transportation and Roadway Design , an Entry Level Staff Engineer will support a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Passed your FE Exam and obtained your EIT certification, or planning to by June 2026
  • Strong interest in roadway and transportation design
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation
  • Basic knowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD, or state DOT standards
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Willingness to learn, collaborate, and take initiative in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
  • Experience or coursework related to corridor modeling in Civil 3D
  • Exposure to fieldwork, including inspections or data collection
  • Understanding of common project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, etc.)
  • Interest in obtaining a PE license and engaging in professional development

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of roadway infrastructure including alignments, grading, drainage, and traffic control
  • Prepare engineering drawings, reports, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Support senior engineers in meeting project goals and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal standards
  • Assist with drainage modeling, traffic control planning, and design documentation
  • Perform site visits to collect field data and support construction activities
  • Use CAD software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or MicroStation) to prepare and revise design plans
  • Help review contractor submittals, RFIs, and support construction administration tasks
  • Coordinate with internal teams, municipalities, and regulatory agencies during design and permitting
