Our innovations enable the F-35 fighter jet, strengthen electronic warfare capabilities, and support intelligence and surveillance networks that protect national security every day. We are seeking entry level candidates to come join our software engineering team at BAE Systems in southern New Hampshire in the spring/summer of 2026. Here, you’ll work alongside some of the brightest minds in engineering, tackling complex technical challenges that shape the future of defense and aerospace. Whether it’s designing real-time embedded software, developing advanced signal processing algorithms, or integrating mission-critical systems, you’ll help deliver the technology that defines modern electronic warfare and situational awareness. As an Entry-Level Software Engineer, you’ll join a multi-disciplinary team where you’ll: Every new engineer joins our Year One (YO) program—a curated experience designed to help you thrive from day one. Every other Friday off with our 9/80 schedule.

Requirements

  • MS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field received
  • Less than one year of full-time professional software engineering experience (excluding internships)
  • Proficiency in one or more high level programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Java, Python)
  • Working knowledge of software design and code utilizing Object Oriented Analysis & Design (OOAD) techniques
  • Ability to obtain clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Security clearance (Secret or higher)
  • Familiarity with modern software development practices and tools (e.g., version control, agile methods, DevOps pipelines)
  • Prior internship or research experience in related field

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software for advanced defense and space systems.
  • Contribute to full lifecycle engineering—from coding and debugging to integration and system testing.
  • Collaborate with system, hardware, and test engineers in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Support field demonstrations, software installations, and system-level testing.
  • Gain exposure to advanced technologies and tools while building the foundation for a long-term engineering career.
