AEP Manufacturing Administrative Services, LLC is looking for an entry-level Mechanical Detailer to join our Turnkey Processing Solutions team in Grand Island, NY. In this in-person role, you’ll work directly with our Lead Engineer to support industrial mechanical design, detailing, and fabrication projects. Learn more about AEP MFG and our family of companies at alignedequitypartner.com Job Description: The Entry-Level Mechanical Detailer creates accurate 3D models and fabrication drawings for mechanical parts and systems. Using sound engineering practices and applicable design standards, this role supports the delivery of high-quality, build-ready documentation that meets customer specifications. We welcome recent graduates or candidates completing their associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical design, drafting, or a related field. For the right candidate, this position may start part-time and transition into a full-time role as skills and availability develop.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in mechanical design, drafting, or a related field required. A bachelor’s degree is welcomed but not required.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD software, such as AutoCAD & Inventor.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in creating and reviewing mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications to create detailed drawings.
  • Understanding of mechanical design standards, fabrication methods, and specifications.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills for collaboration across disciplines.
  • Experience in creating bills of materials (BOMs) and maintaining design documentation.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and materials to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Create detailed 2D & 3D engineering drawings of mechanical components and systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to understand project requirements.
  • Use CAD software (Inventor & AutoCAD) to create and modify drawings and models.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings by reviewing and checking dimensions, materials, and other specifications.
  • Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) and project documentation.
  • Communicate with production teams to ensure drawings are properly implemented.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify and resolve design challenges.
