Entry Level/Lead Technician

TEKsystems
Onsite

About The Position

We are supporting a large‑scale hyperscale data center deployment requiring Entry‑Level Fiber Technicians and Lead Fiber Technicians. This project involves fiber installation, porting, testing, troubleshooting, and general data center infrastructure build‑out. The work does not include fiber splicing. The ideal candidates are hard‑working, mechanically inclined, safety‑conscious team players who take initiative and are eager to grow—not individuals who are only interested in basic patching work. For Entry-Level Fiber Technicians, the role involves pulling, routing, and securing fiber throughout the data center, assembling, stacking, and drilling equipment racks, scanning, labeling, and porting equipment, maintaining site cleanliness, and following all safety protocols. For Lead Fiber Technicians, the role involves leading fiber installation activities including pulling, routing, testing, and troubleshooting, performing fiber testing using OTDR and Fluke equipment, reviewing and managing cut sheets and project documentation, delegating work, overseeing technicians, ensuring productivity, performing QC/QA, site documentation, and progress reporting, and interfacing with customers to provide daily updates, photos, and reports.
