About The Position

We are seeking an individual who is looking for opportunities to gain more experience in the field of enology and hands on winemaking. The ideal candidates will have a passion for knowledge and a willingness to learn, with a background in viticulture, enology, or interest in the Wine Industry. As a mid-size winery processing around 450 tons, this will be a seasonal experience with ample opportunity to experience all aspects of the harvest season. Candidates should be prepared to participate in all winemaking positions, including vineyard sampling, fruit processing, fermentation management, barrel work, sanitation, and more. This assignment is a dynamic position allowing for training and work in all areas of individual interest. We focus on safety and training early to provide a bedrock of skills to our entire crew going into the season. From this point to mid-November, there is an opportunity to touch all aspects of the winemaking process at Lingua Franca. This is a temporary full-time, on-site seasonal assignment. Schedules are determined on an as-needed basis to keep up with grape processing. This may include weekend work, and overtime. We hope to start this assignment mid-August, with exact date communicated once growing season begins.

Requirements

  • Ability to work from mid-August through mid-November
  • Ability to work various shifts including weekends and overtime
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills – oral and written
  • Interest in the winemaking process
  • Ability to work well independently and in teams
  • Must be able to move up to 55 lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be flexible with scheduling and willing to work long hours during peak harvest.
