About The Position

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our construction projects by assisting with clerical functions, material procurement, estimating processes, and project management throughout the entire project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Experience in estimation, construction, project management, and construction management.
  • Proficiency in preconstruction, bidding, commercial construction, and construction estimating.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam software and proposal development.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • One to two years of experience, with college coursework potentially substituting for experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Spanish is an asset but not required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Solid understanding and proficiency with spreadsheets, email, and construction industry software.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in general clerical functions, including travel arrangements and coordinating events and appointments.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support supervisor decision-making.
  • Take meeting minutes and action items, and perform follow-up tasks.
  • Assist with material pricing and procurement.
  • Update and submit SDS and MSDS binders.
  • Organize logistics for subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Support project managers, superintendents, or other management roles during all phases of the construction process.
  • Participate in the change management process, including updating logs and developing estimates and proposals.
  • Conduct quantity surveys using current software and processes to determine scope and quantities of work.
  • Support contract negotiations, including subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Identify potential issues and facilitate solutions proactively.
  • Research internet bids daily and prepare bid folders.
  • Maintain a preferred vendor and subcontractor list.
  • Prepare and manage subcontractor agreement folders.
  • Review owner contracts to become familiar with terms and conditions.
  • Distribute project schedules and ensure subcontractors have updated scopes of work.
  • Review project drawings and specifications to identify long lead times and critical path items.
  • Complete sub evaluations and comparisons of bids.
  • Monitor submittals and track material deliveries.
  • Collect and review superintendent daily reports, project pictures, and safety documentation.
  • Complete quantity take-offs as requested.
  • Review, code, and verify invoices for accuracy.
  • Distribute punch lists and ensure their timely completion.
  • Collect all required close-out documents for certification.
