About The Position

Tectonic is currently seeking a full-time Entry-Level Environmental Scientist to work on various projects based out of our Newburgh, NY Office. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS The essential functions of this position will include traveling to various job sites and utilizing necessary field equipment to complete asbestos and lead investigations, soil and groundwater sampling, site investigations, remedial investigations, environmental site assessments, receptor evaluations, and related remediation tasks. Essential functions also include the preparation of detailed, concise, and accurate field reports, technical report writing, communicating with project managers, contractors, client representatives and colleagues, performing research, communicating required information for and assisting with various analyses of data using various software, as well as all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • BS Degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or similar
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • this position requires obtaining OSHA safety training within a reasonable period of time upon commencement of employment
  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to represent the Company in a professional manner
  • Must have strong organizational skills
  • Functional computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, Nitro/Adobe or similar PDF suite, as well as ability to utilize various software programs, time reporting systems, and other related computer applications
  • Open availability for work outside of typical business hours for projects that require alternate working hours
  • Requires a valid, acceptable driver’s license and personal vehicle to travel to project sites, as regular daily travel may be required

Nice To Haves

  • Any position related professional certifications, training, or licenses are desirable
  • GIS software experience is a plus

Responsibilities
