About The Position

We are looking for an Entry Level Civil/Environmental Engineer to join our ICE team to improve infrastructure in our Flint or Bay City office. Candidates should have a bachelor' s degree in civil or engineering and zero to three years of experience in site development. Completion of Part I of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam and knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred. Strong written and verbal communication/coordination skills are essential. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule is available after 90 days of employment. Typical responsibilities include: Design various site development projects including commercial, institutional, and residential plans from concept through construction including the following: Site planning; Site grading; Site balancing; Storm water design; Horizontal and vertical design of underground utilities Obtain jurisdictional approvals/permits Prepare design reports and construction plans using local and state standards Prepare preliminary project cost estimates and evaluate quantities Assist with/review scope, budget, and schedule of new project tasks Monitor task budget and progress Conduct on-site observations as needed Maintain multiple project assignments Verify field survey notes Prepare project status and other reports Assist Project Managers Attend client, public, project and staff meetings including client progress, plan review, pre-construction, etc. Attend seminars and/or training classes Maintain excellent client relations Maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering required
  • 0 - 3 years of related experience in site development required
  • Strong written and verbal communication/coordination skills are essential

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of Part I of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam preferred
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred
