About The Position
Entrepreneurship Internship - Volanno Transportation Academy Volanno, a leader in transportation technology and innovation, proudly announces the return of the Volanno Transportation Academy (VTA) for its second year— a 10-week, full-time, paid internship program designed to give students hands-on experience addressing the real-world challenges facing the transportation industry. Through the Volanno Transportation Academy, participants will gain direct exposure to aviation, rail, and local transit operations through curated site visits, mentorship by industry experts, and project-based learning. Interns will choose one of four tracks — Project Management, Entrepreneurship, Technology, or Air Traffic Control. About the Track: The Entrepreneurship Track is designed for students eager to understand how new ideas become business solutions in government contracting. Interns will explore Volanno's innovation pipeline — from concept to product development, business development, market research, and marketing/sales — with a focus on transportation modernization.
Requirements
- Strong interest in product development, business development, sales, marketing, entrepreneurship, or public sector innovation
- Excellent writing, presentation, and research skills
- Creative, strategic thinker comfortable with ambiguity
- Coursework or experience in business, entrepreneurship, marketing, public policy, or a related field preferred
Responsibilities
- Participate in site visits to transportation agencies and identify unmet needs that could be addressed through innovative solutions.
- Learn how federal, state, and local government agencies procure technology and services.
- Support the development of white papers, product marketing materials, and new business pitches.
- Assist in researching market trends and competitive positioning for Volanno's technology solutions.
- Meet with transportation leaders and industry experts.
- Complete weekly video logs to document your journey.
- Complete a capstone project proposing a new product or service concept for the transportation sector and present it to Volanno leadership at the end of the program.
- Attend the graduation ceremony.
