About The Position

Bucknell University’s Department of Theatre and Dance is seeking an Entertainment Technology Assistant, to begin immediately or no later than mid-August 2026, for a one- or two-year appointment. The Entertainment Technology Assistant will work 40 hours per week during the academic year (34 weeks per year). This position is considered a limited-benefits eligible, non-exempt staff position. The successful applicant must be self-motivated, responsible, and a creative problem solver. The person in this position must be able to work efficiently and independently to support theatre and dance productions. This position is intended for talented college graduates seeking to pursue stage technology and design as a career and who wish to gain more experience in preparation for graduate school or further professional work while developing their portfolio.

Requirements

  • Basic skills in stage electrics, scenery construction, drafting (CAD preferred), stage lighting, audio, etc.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license
  • Bachelor of Arts or BFA in Theatre or a related field
  • Successful candidates will have some professional stage design/technology experience
  • Familiarity with live event lighting or sound systems

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Arts or BFS focused in live event design and technology
  • Some professional stage design/technology experience in live event production
  • Professional Certifications Preferred ESTA / ETCP Certification - Rigging / Entertainment Electrician
  • USITT eSET Certification
  • Vectorworks
  • ETC EOS family lighting systems
  • Yamaha or Allen and Heath digital audio consoles
  • Dante Networking for live entertainment
  • Digital media
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds and work from a ladder
