About The Position

The Gig: The Supervisor of Entertainment Technical Operations is responsible for overseeing and leading all technical functions within our Orlando rehearsal studio. This includes managing the maintenance and inventory of all equipment, operating and supporting audio and rigging systems, and ensuring a safe working environment. The role also supports technical procurement for our fleet of ships. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter with exceptional communication, planning, and time-management abilities. Strong organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously are essential. This position is based on-site at our Orlando, Florida rehearsal studio and requires a five-day-per-week in-person presence. What You'll Be Up To: Oversight of Rehearsal Studio Technical Operations Hire, schedule, and lead a team of 3rd party riggers to operate and inspect performer flying winches. Update inventory of all technical elements in the studio including apparatus for performer flying in partnership with Rehearsal Stage Management Supervisor Manage and assist in the setup, testing, and strike of all technical elements for rehearsals. Identify and action repairs, maintenance, and replacement of all technical elements in the studio. Maintain all actions for studio SafetyCulture tickets. Train and coach studio staff in the management and setup of QLab and the operation of audio gear. Mentor performers in proper microphone technique, Aviom operation, and IEMs Fleet Technical Operations Update and package all QLab files and tracks after rehearsal concludes to hand off to ship. Manage procurement of audio, lighting, and video items for the fleet in partnership with Entertainment Operations & Procurement Specialist Assist in delivery of technical items to the fleet in partnership with Entertainment Operations & Procurement Specialist Assist in technical advancing for special events in partnership with Sr Manager, Music Ops and Director, Ent Technical Ops Draft, execute, and manage contracts for technical vendors. Daily Rehearsal and Technical Facility Suppor t This position will be based out of Virgin Voyages' Rehearsal and Training Facility located in Orlando, FL and will have scheduled working hours out of that office and provide studio support including: Opening and closing the studio for teams, at the start and end of working days Receiving shipments and deliveries during business hours and off hours when needed Cataloguing and distributing shipments to proper teams as they arrive All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years in technical operations for the Entertainment Industry in a leadership capacity
  • 2+ years’ experience in the cruise industry is preferred
  • Experience in oversight of contracted labor is required
  • Strong knowledge of various Entertainment Technical disciplines with an emphasis in audio, rigging/automation, performer flying
  • Refined logistical and scheduling abilities, and exceptional time and project management skills
  • Heavy experience with QLab and audio mixing and troubleshooting.
  • Resilience for changing priorities and urgent requests
  • Proactive and unafraid to seek out tasks and offer a helping hand
  • Work well under tight deadlines and with crew members from all over the world
  • Great energy and attitude of optimism
