About The Position
The Production Assistant supports the Production Manager in the execution of live events, concerts, corporate functions, and recurring programming at the Lexus Box Garden at Legacy Hall. This role is responsible for assisting with stage setup, basic audio/video operations, event logistics, equipment management, and day-of-show support to ensure a safe, professional, and efficient event environment. The Production Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining operational readiness of the venue’s production systems and assisting with the technical execution of performances and special events. This position requires flexibility, physical stamina, and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced live entertainment environment.

Responsibilities
- Assist the Production Manager with all aspects of event setup, operation, and breakdown including: • Stage setup and strike • Backline preparation • Cable management and routing • Microphone placement • Monitor and wedge placement • Basic lighting support • Video wall preparation and testing • Equipment transport and staging
- Support smooth transitions between multiple events in a single day.
- Assist touring artists, DJs, and performers with production needs including: • Load-in and load-out assistance • Stage plot implementation • Input patching under direction of Production Manager • Gear placement and troubleshooting • Basic stage changeovers
- Serve as an additional set of hands for touring engineers and performers as needed.
- Provide support with the operation and monitoring of venue systems including: • Audio systems • Stage monitors • Microphones and wireless systems • LED video wall playback • Playback systems for music or video • DJ or karaoke equipment • Corporate presentation AV support
- Assist with troubleshooting basic technical issues during events.
- Assist with live event operations including: • Supporting production during performances • Managing stage flow and performer transitions • Coordinating with venue operations staff • Ensuring production timelines are maintained • Maintaining communication with Production Manager throughout events
- Maintain and organize production equipment including: • Audio gear • Lighting fixtures • Microphones and cables • Stage hardware • DJ and playback systems
- Assist with inventory tracking and equipment storage.
- Ensure equipment is properly handled, stored, and protected.
- Assist with general production-related venue operations including: • Preparing production areas for events • Supporting recurring programming (karaoke, DJs, trivia, etc.) • Assisting with corporate events and private buyouts • Helping maintain a clean and safe backstage and stage environment
- Maintain safe working practices including: • Proper lifting and equipment handling • Cable safety and trip hazard prevention • Compliance with venue sound level policies • Adherence to city curfew and operational guidelines
