About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for managing all aspects of the Box Office and Ticketmaster operations for Mid-America Center, Stir Concert Cove, and Whiskey Roadhouse in Council Bluffs as well as promoting events from an Advertising and Public Relations perspective for the Mid-America Center. Supports all Sponsorship opportunities to help with Stir Deck, MAC Suite, and advertising sales across all three properties. DIRECTLY SUPERVISES: MAC Marketing Specialist, Box Office Attendants, Box Office Leads, Stir Concert Cove FOH team and Whiskey Roadhouse FOH team. KEY JOB FUNCTIONS : Oversees daily Box Office and Ticketmaster operations including building, monitoring, selling and modifying all ticketed events as needed. Coordinates all event information between the promoter, facility, and the ticketing company including maintaining communication with ticketing company representatives for updates and/or revisions in computer software and hardware and preparing event set-up documentation and submitting to corporate ticketing for event set-up. Negotiates/coordinates/settles all merchandise sales by promoter and artist at all properties for entertainment events. Establishes files on each event that consist of seats on-hold for the building and promoter, complimentary ticket vouchers, event audits, property communication of ticket tracking, and ticket inventory schedules. Provides assistance and direction to user groups in planning ticketing needs; proofs maps, ticket prices, dates and show time for accuracy prior to enabling tickets for sale; processes user block ticket requests. Responds to customer complaints and service requests to maintain a positive rapport with the ticket buying public including resolving ticketing problems that cannot be resolved by box office attendants. Prepares cash bank and daily accurate inventory of all tickets distributed and available for sale; accounts for cash bank and receipts (cash and credit card) from ticket sales; prepares and presents the final box office statement for settlement of each event. Creates and produces all box office sales reports including ticket sales for each event and provides accounting with reconciled daily activity reports. Manages vault/bank operations and assists with counting and reconciling Ticketing and F&B revenue. Controls cash inventory, bank deposits, cash bag impress, cash bag processing for all cash handling departments at the Mid-America Center. Oversees the building of cash bags as needed to cover upcoming events for Ticketing and F&B. Works with accounting to ensure cash deliveries, deposits and banking are handled daily to ensure proper financial operation of the Mid-America Center. Manages the day-to-day operations of the MAC’s Marketing initiatives. Negotiates and executes media buys (OOH, TV, radio, print, etc.), in addition to coordinating social media buying. Partners with the MAC Marketing Specialists on creative needs, including, but not limited to, design, signage placement, and print production. Proofs all Entertainment collateral to ensure quality and accuracy. Achieves desired results in all areas of responsibility through staff development and training programs, established methods, procedures and guidelines to maintain desired standards, and high quality service. Then, monitors results through inspection, evaluation and analysis. Makes changes if necessary to achieve end result. Executes and monitors effective advertising media schedules with on-property, audio visual, radio, direct mail, website, and outdoor vendors in compliance with established marketing plan guidelines ensuring quality of advertising material, delivered in an efficient and timely manner. Prioritizes organization related projects through effective allocation of resources; oversees and monitors workflow, department and agency schedules, and communication with internal requesting departments and clients to ensure fulfillment of media and production deadlines in a timely, quality, and cost effective manner. Accountable for the monitoring of advertising payments & budgets in compliance with established marketing department guidelines, and to ensure the achievement of property plan objectives. Maintains consistent branding for on-property collateral in accordance with property marketing plan; manages placement and production process. Management accountability for team members for day to day and long-term operations to include hiring, training and developing employees which includes coaching, mentoring and appropriate performance management up to and including separation. Implements training programs, establishes methods, procedures and safety guidelines required to maintain desired standards, and high-quality service, then monitors results through inspection. Makes changes if necessary to maintain end result. Partners with all internal departments, Sponsorship Specialist, vendors and agencies to develop and implement incoming partnerships and sponsorships to directly reduce costs, drive revenue and add value to the property programming. Supports all sponsorship opportunities to help with Stir Deck, MAC Suite, and advertising sales across all three properties . Responsible for staffing and scheduling (planning, assigning and directing work) to meet business demands and ensure customer satisfaction. Presents oneself as a credit to Company and encourages others to do the same. Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from a four-year accredited college or university with major course work in business or related field.
  • Five years progressively more challenging role in box office or ticket sales experience and/or marketing advertising experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills including tact when dealing with difficult customers, must be fluent and literate in English.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational ability.
  • Ability to perform effectively under significant pressure typically associated with meeting the demands and timetables of the entertainment industry.
  • Must be proficient in TM One, Adobe Photoshop, Excel, Word, Power Point, Access and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Possesses a working knowledge of computer ticketing systems and the ability to update, integrate and implement procedure in response to state of the art changes.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons and other encountered in the course of employment.
  • Comprehend and use bookkeeping principles and standard accounting practices.
  • Recognize and solve problems rapidly and effectively while handling a large volume of tickets and cash in a fast paced environment.
  • Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages accurately and efficiently.
  • Must be able to maintain a neat, well-groomed, professional appearance and uphold the company appearance standards.
  • Adheres to departmental and company policies and maintains compliance with all regulatory, governmental, and safety requirements.

  • Must be flexible with schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Will be subject to call 24 hours in case of emergency or facility need.
