About The Position

Job Description JOB DESCRIPTION Entertainment Drafting Classes are held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:20 AM-1:50 PM in the Spring. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline AND two years of professional experience OR Associate degree in any discipline AND six years of professional experience OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area. OR The equivalent.
  • Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience within the topics of theatrical, film, and/or event drafting.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience with Vectorworks CAD software including entertainment standards, symbol creation/modification, 2D/3D techniques, layering, layout, and USITT graphic standards.
  • Understanding of Lightwright integration within the Vectorworks environment.
  • Operational experience with both PC and Mac computers.
  • Familiarity with the paperwork requirements and expectations of both lighting and scenic design.
  • LMS experience/training (Canvas).
  • Detailed experience teaching technical theatre courses, especially introductory classes, with innovative teaching practices supporting success and retention of women, students of color and students with disabilities.
  • Experience collaborating with faculty, staff, and/or community leaders in programs and initiatives that are specifically designed to assist historically underrepresented students achieve their educational goals.
