About The Position

The ancestors of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation existed many centuries ago as a community of people…a Tribe living together, farming, hunting and fishing to survive. Much has changed since that time. Today the Sycuan Tribe governs its Reservation, owns and operates a Casino and a Golf Resort, and owns a number of other business ventures in the San Diego Region. One attribute that remains unchanged, however, is Sycuan's sense of community. Sycuan is more than just a business. Sycuan is a community of people working together toward a common goal. Whether you work in our state-of-the-art Casino, our beautiful Resort, or become a staff member in our Tribal Government division, you will be part of the Sycuan family. Job Purpose: The primary responsibilities include providing exceptional guest service while supporting Theatre events, promotional giveaways, community outreach and co-op sponsorships.

Requirements

  • 1 year of guest service experience
  • Cash handling experience
  • Ability to interact effectively with team members and guests
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks and assignments
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal directives and written directions
  • Knowledge of Windows operating system
  • Basic computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to appear for work on time
  • Ability to complete forms and documents
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for up to eight hours at a time
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to work in a smoking environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

Nice To Haves

  • Hospitality experience
  • Ticket sales and/or box office experience
  • High School Diploma, High School Certificate of Completion, or G.E.D.
  • Multi-lingual
  • Ability to count cash and make change in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to recognize counterfeit monies
  • Knowledge of casino games
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations

Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly guest service while promoting entertainment options and assisting guests with purchase decisions.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of show schedule, production details, and ticketing prices.
  • Maintain a Box Office cash bank.
  • Follow proper cash handling procedures and reconcile daily transactions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe Box Office environment at all times.
  • Assist with night of show ticket issuance and redemptions.
  • Assists with venue logistics before and after events.
  • Assist with ushering venue guests to assigned seats.
  • Assist with incoming and outgoing guest calls.
  • Maintain a professional and pleasant department image by consistently communicating and presenting information in a professional manner to internal and external guests.
  • Promote Club Sycuan membership to guests with thorough knowledge of guidelines and benefits.
  • Create new Club Sycuan membership accounts and Club Sycuan membership card reprints.
  • Ascertain and resolve guest concerns, requests, and /or complaints in a timely, courteous and informed manner.
  • Collect complete and accurate data from guests while processing transactions.
  • Provide friendly guest service while promoting Sycuan Casino Resort at off property sponsored events.
  • Distribute promotional merchandise as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
