About The Position

This position is contingent upon contract award. Location details: This role is hybrid 4 days/week at the Navy Software Factory in Riverdale, Maryland. Evans is hiring a detail-oriented Systems Administrator to join their growing team in one of their contracts in Riverdale, MD. This role requires hands-on experience with access control, system administration, and secure data management. The candidate will work to support one of the U.S. Navy’s software factories in an agile DevSecOps environment to enable mission software delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Jira and Confluence Administration.
  • 5+ years of system administration or system engineering experience, preferably supporting secure or classified environments.
  • Experience managing user accounts, groups, and permissions within enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with documentation and process development.
  • Active security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Strong attention to detail and process discipline with excellent communication skills.
  • U.S. citizenship or a permanent residency card in the U.S. is required to be an eligible candidate for this opportunity.
  • Employees may be required to hold a specific security clearance depending on the work assignment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with or ability to quickly learn tools such as GitLab, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Cameo, and Rocket Chat preferred.
  • Experience operating within classified environments at IL-4 or IL-5 is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with FDE tools or secure development environments (e.g., classified enclaves, air-gapped systems).
  • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks or similar compliance standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and improve documentation for administrative tasks and account request procedures in FDE tools.
  • Implement and manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) within FDE tools to ensure secure and appropriate user access.
  • Configure Jira dashboards, supporting plugins (e.g., BigPicture), and enabling real-time visibility into workstreams.
  • Create, delete, and modify user accounts, groups, and permissions in FDE tools as needed.
  • Service user requests for administrative support based on priority.
  • Provide support for onboarding and offboarding FDE users, including provisioning and deprovisioning accounts and resources.
  • Support configurations, data management, and plugin operations in Jira and Confluence.
  • Support users in transferring and delivering both unclassified and classified data.
  • Ensure proper record-keeping, auditing, and adherence to established security and data management policies.
  • Ability to operate within a multi-vendor and cross-functional team environment while responding to surge tasking as needed.
