About The Position

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Senior Consultant to join our team, supporting a large project at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The ERM Senior Consultant will assist with project tasks related to federal risk management programs, supporting the implementation of ERM strategies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with federal policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) projects supporting federal agencies.
  • Certification: RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP).
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles, compliance frameworks, and policy adherence.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting risk management programs for federal agencies such as VA, DHS, or DoD.
  • Familiarity with federal risk frameworks including OMB A-123, NIST, and ISO 31000.
  • Experience in ERM training, stakeholder engagement, and workshop facilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ERM project tasks for a federal client to support risk management objectives.
  • Conduct risk analysis and assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Support the implementation of ERM strategies, ensuring alignment with federal risk management frameworks.
  • Develop risk reports and recommendations to inform stakeholders on mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with federal policies, regulations, and ERM best practices.
  • Assist with developing and maintaining ERM documentation, including risk registers, frameworks, and assessment tools.
  • Engage with stakeholders and contribute to ERM training sessions and workshops to improve risk awareness and program maturity.
