About The Position

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced and dedicated Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Project Manager to join our team, supporting a large project at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The ERM Project Manager will play a key role in assisting with federal ERM initiatives, supporting risk assessments, and ensuring project compliance. This role requires a strong understanding of federal risk management best practices and the ability to engage with stakeholders effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience supporting federal ERM projects.
  • Certification: RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional (RIMS-CRMP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management principles, compliance frameworks, and project documentation.
  • Experience working with federal agencies on ERM-related projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the required federal public trust clearance for this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with federal ERM regulations, including NIST, OMB A-123, and ISO 31000.
  • Experience in training program development and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) projects for a large federal agency.
  • Support risk assessments and mitigation planning to strengthen ERM frameworks.
  • Collaborate with contractor teams and stakeholders to implement risk management initiatives.
  • Maintain project documentation, compliance reports, and risk registers to track project progress.
  • Lead Risk Management training design teams, ensuring the development of effective educational materials.
  • Lead or support customer engagement activities, including fireside chats, focus groups, and stakeholder briefings.
  • Monitor ERM program progress, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
