About The Position

To provide technical support services in the area of computing devices to district offices, learning communities and schools related to information technology in a distributed infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) years of work experience in implementing various types of information systems projects through the full lifecycle.
  • Having or working toward attaining Project Management Institute Certification i.e. PMP (Project Management Professional) status.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the project management tools, or methodologies.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in use of project management methodologies and tools.
  • Thorough understanding of software development lifecycle and system integrations.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, data security and firewalls.
  • Ability to facilitate group processes in consensus building, conflict resolution, planning and decision-making.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with the staff or other departments.
  • Ability to use effective interview techniques, coaching procedures, and evaluation procedures.
  • Knowledge of current technologies and research.
  • Ability to identify important issues or problems in area of responsibility.
  • Ability to share ideas with others in a clear and informative manner.
  • Ability to analyze data and effectively use problem solving skills.
  • Analytical skills to review information and formulate alternative solutions to problems.
  • Excellent written presentation and documentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret and enforce State Board Rules and School Board policy as they relate to technology.
  • Ability to prepare and manage section budget.

Responsibilities

  • Manifest a professional code of ethics and values.

  • Model the routine, intentional and effective use of technology in daily work, including communications, organization, and management tasks.
  • Manage assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to schedule, budget and scope of the project.
  • Responsible for overall coordination of assembling project plans and teamwork assignments
  • Ability to lead all relevant project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Defining resource requirements and managing resource availability & allocation – both internal and third party.
  • Implement, manage, and maintain multiple projects that have an impact on the enterprise (district) level. Some projects may have an ITS focus as required. Projects may include front office and back-office projects in the areas of instruction and operations.
  • Utilize the soft skill of influence with or without direct leadership involvement to implement, manage or maintain enterprise projects.
  • Support districtwide ITS planning and project management. Implement project management methodology that includes templates, guidelines management processes, practices, and guidelines.
  • Implement project evaluation process as defined by the district project management office which includes the framework under which new projects will be evaluated, selected, and prioritized.
  • Implement project management communication plan to facilitate communication of project plan decisions and status.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners. Coordinate training services which would include project management consulting, coaching and any technical assistance needed for successful implementation.
  • Tracking project and providing regular reports on project status to project team and key stakeholders.
  • Provide metrics for accountability, through the Director, EPO, ITS that supports the ITS Governance Model. The metrics will be revisited on no less than an annual basis in support of the district’s goals and objectives. The metrics will be monitored and measured in support of the information technology balanced scorecard, which will be revised on a periodic basis.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to all HRMD guidelines and the district’s instructional initiatives.
  • Follow the district’s policies and procedures as related to fixed assets.
  • Develop leadership in staff.
  • Responsible for keeping up to date on current technology being used by OCPS. With the support of the district, attend training to ensure skill level in various technologies is at the level required to perform in current position.
  • Responsible for maintaining timely and accurate information and accountable for the quality of information maintained by those they supervise.
  • Responsible for self-development and keeping up to date on current research, trends, and best practices relevant to the area of responsibility.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
