About The Position

Edge Tech has been retained by a revolutionary AI start-up that has just closed a $150M Series A at a $1.7B valuation. Built by researchers from a global top 5 university, they're creating an open platform where the world accesses and evaluates leading AI models. Think of it as the definitive leaderboard for AI progress, shaped by millions of users comparing models side by side. With only 50 people, they are backed by top-tier investors and scaling fast. They are looking for their first dedicated IT Engineer to act as the "Right Hand" to the Head of IT. This is a rare chance to come in as a founder-level operator and build the enterprise stack from the ground up. You’re not just setting up Google Workspace; you’re establishing the operational backbone for a future AI giant. You will be responsible for the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding to device management to security. As the company grows from 50 to hundreds, you will design the systems that scale with them.

Requirements

3-6 years of hands-on IT Engineering experience, specifically building systems from scratch (0 to 1).
Experience as the first or second dedicated IT hire at a startup or high-growth SaaS company (experience in similar rigorous but sub- scale environments is a plus (e. g. , PE, Law Firms, etc. )
Hands- on experience with macOS administration and troubleshooting.
Solid scripting experience using Python /PowerShell/Bash.
Excellent communication skills to interact with executive- level stakeholders.

Responsibilities

The Foundation: Core stack including Okta, Google Workspace, Intune, CrowdStrike, and Cloudflare.
Identity & Security: Managing user lifecycles, enforcing MFA, provisioning, and governance.
Device Management: Full oversight of macOS & Windows endpoints via Intune & CrowdStrike.
Automation Expert: Using Python, PowerShell, or Bash to script workflows and eliminate manual toil.
High-Stakes Support: Acting as the primary go-to for the entire company (from new hires to the C-Suite).
