About The Position

The Vice President of Enterprise Development is a technically fluent and highly motivated business development professional with deep experience in the data center industry, including colocation, hyperscale, and enterprise infrastructure. This individual understands the nuances of selling into mission-critical environments, with a focus on uptime, compliance, and speed-to-execution. They have existing relationships across developers, general contractors, facility operators, and end users, and are skilled at navigating long, complex sales cycles where trust and execution reliability are paramount.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–8 years in B2B sales, business development, or strategic accounts in the data center ecosystem (e.g., services, design-build, commissioning, maintenance, critical infrastructure).
  • Familiar with Tier III+ standards, N+1 redundancy, SLAs, and operational requirements within mission-critical environments.
  • Experience selling into data center developers, hyperscale operators (AWS, Google, Meta, etc.), colocation providers (Equinix, Digital Realty), and facility management firms.
  • Experience selling services or products into data center environments (EX: HVAC, racks, wiring, electrical, cabling, etc.)
  • Capable of discussing mechanical/electrical infrastructure, white space (aka – red zone) readiness, ISO standards, and operational best practices for uptime-sensitive environments.
  • Understands how technical services (cleaning, maintenance, environmental monitoring, commissioning) integrate into broader facility operations and compliance protocols.
  • Able to collaborate with engineering, construction, facilities, and IT teams internally and externally.
  • Capable of discussing mechanical/electrical infrastructure, white space (aka – red zone) readiness, ISO standards, and operational best practices for uptime-sensitive environments.
  • Understands how technical services (cleaning, maintenance, environmental monitoring, commissioning) integrate into broader facility operations and compliance protocols.
  • Able to collaborate with engineering, construction, facilities, and IT teams internally and externally.
  • Proven ability to generate $4M+ in annualized new business revenue, ideally in a service-based or project-based environment.
  • Experienced with complex, multi-stakeholder sales, often including developers, general contractors, REITs, and procurement leads.
  • Can respond to RFPs, prequal packages, and build influence early in site selection/design phases.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to hyperscale campuses, construction sites, and operating facilities as needed.
  • Credible and calm in high-pressure environments.
  • Consultative, precise, and persistent—knows how to build trust in a risk-averse industry.
  • Relationship builder who is well-respected by technical and procurement stakeholders alike.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Data center or mission-critical infrastructure certifications (e.g., Uptime Institute, BICSI, DCEP, 7x24 Exchange) are strong pluses.
  • Deep familiarity with data center market dynamics, including lead times, construction timelines, and recurring facility service requirements.
  • Ideally part of data center networks, conferences, or associations such as 7x24 Exchange, AFCOM, or iMasons.
  • Demonstrates experience with enterprise-level procurement and contract negotiation.
  • Adaptable, collaborative, and driven to win new logos in a competitive landscape.
