Job Description : Leads & delivers the analytical work efforts for a dedicated business area or function and may utilize various resources across Analytical Teams; usually within a specific line of business or business discipline. Leverages multiple databases to acquire customer and performance data and demonstrates deep subject matter expertise in area of focus. Delivers individually or with the help of peers and others insightful data to be used in driving complex business decisions or processes. Identifies opportunities for collaboration across the Analytics organization to effectively deliver against priorities. Communicates with Senior managers and Analytics executives to understand business problems to be analyzed and deliver the appropriate summary and data required. Communicates with Business Leaders to identify, analyze, and propose solutions to a variety of business problems using data driven insights. May be required to interact more independently and own a project or business area end-end. Ability to use data tools and techniques to find and deliver data from various sources of record. Proven communications skills in describing complex data to inform strategic insights and decisions. The Data Product Governance Lead will be responsible for leading and delivering on a comprehensive Governance and Monitoring strategy for our Enterprise Data Products being delivered as part of a refresh of our data ecosystem. In this role, you will be tasked with developing a data governance plan to include core elements such as Metadata, Data Lineage, Data Quality, and Access Management and ensuring compliance via a set of KPIs. You will interact with leaders across engineering, analytics, reporting, and modeling as you define and implement the strategy.

Requirements

  • Deep understanding of financial regulations and data privacy laws.
  • Experience implementing data management frameworks
  • Ability to define and enforce data quality standards, metrics, and remediation processes.
  • Knowledge of metadata repositories, data lineage, and master data principles.
  • Skills in identifying, assessing, and mitigating data-related risks within regulated environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to align business, IT, and compliance teams.
  • Ability to create, maintain, and enforce data governance policies and standards.
  • Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra) and data cataloging solutions.
  • Capability to analyze complex data issues and propose actionable solutions.
  • Experience driving cultural change toward data stewardship and governance best practices.

  • Ability to leverage analytics and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for governance insights.
  • Understanding of how AI and machine learning impact data governance
  • Ability to anticipate emerging regulations and adapt governance strategies proactively.
  • Experience in aligning governance with enterprise data strategy and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Skills in driving organizational adoption of governance policies and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Owns, develops, and communicates the Data Governance Program Strategy for the data analytics layer across the enterprise
  • Develop and implement a data governance plan specific to the existing analytics layer data products developed and maintained
  • Define and enforce metadata, lineage, and data quality standards for those data products
  • Maintain data dictionaries, catalogs, and documentation
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of data lineage, data catalog, and data dictionary tools if it is determined that a tool(s) is needed
  • Ensure data products are discoverable and aligned with business use cases
  • Partners with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure consistent data definitions and usage
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions to drive adoption and awareness of governance best practices
  • Champion a culture of data stewardship and socialize the data stewardship concept with business stakeholders
  • Implement and monitor access controls and security policies for governed content
  • Develop metrics and KPIs to measure the impact of governance on data quality, accessibility, and decision-making
  • This position may also have responsibilities for managing associates.
