About The Position

Command Cyber Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Front End Enterprise Data Center Architect to join our team in support of a client at Hill AFB. As a designated remote-based Key Personnel role, you will be responsible for the top-level design and strategic oversight of a complex, hybrid data center environment, encompassing both on-premises private cloud and public cloud resources. In direct conjunction with the government technical director, Data Center Operations Lead and other architects, you will shape the IT infrastructure's future by aligning technology initiatives with the organization's business strategy, evaluating emerging technologies, and developing comprehensive roadmaps to bridge the gap between the current and future state.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solutions engineering, or strategic IT planning.
  • Demonstrated experience creating multi-year technology roadmaps for a large-scale enterprise.
  • Proven expertise in designing and managing hybrid environments that blend on-premises private cloud with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI)
  • Prior experience in a DoD or government data center environment is strongly preferred.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.
  • Expert understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF) and the ITIL v4 framework.
  • Deep, holistic knowledge of various IT domains, including network, storage, virtualization, cloud computing, application architecture, data architecture, and cybersecurity.
  • In-depth understanding of the financial and business aspects of IT decision-making
  • Experience with monitoring and utilizing Project Management methodology within JIRA.
  • Strategic Planning: The ability to translate high-level business strategy into actionable technology roadmaps.
  • Executive Communication: Superior communication, presentation, and collaboration skills to effectively advise senior leadership and bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Systems Thinking: The ability to analyze and design complex systems with a holistic, integrated perspective.
  • Leadership & Influence: Ability to guide and influence cross-functional technical teams toward a unified architectural vision.
  • Technology Evaluation: Ability to critically assess emerging technologies, vendors, and trends for strategic value and risk.
  • Business Acumen: Ability to understand and articulate how technology decisions impact the organization's financial and operational goals
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • CompTIA Security+ CE or other DoD 8570 IAT Level II compliant certification.

Nice To Haves

  • One or more professional-level Cloud Technologies certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Oracle OCI Professional - “Preferred”).
  • TOGAF® 9 Certification (or similar Enterprise Architecture certification) is highly desired

Responsibilities

  • Support the Data Center CTO in aligning enterprise business strategies with IT infrastructure, architecture, and technology initiatives.
  • Conduct front-end hosted system support assessments to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability across customer programs.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of highly efficient, scalable, and reliable hybrid data center architectures, possessing a holistic understanding of all IT domains including application, data, security, and multi-cloud computing.
  • Develop and refine disaster recovery and continuity-of-operations strategies for front-end systems.
  • Evaluate the data center’s current state, conduct risk assessments, and formulate disaster recovery strategies to ensure resiliency and adaptability
  • Design integrated, efficient architectural solutions spanning application architecture, data architecture, security, cloud, and multi-cloud environments.
  • Lead the evaluation and integration of emerging technologies, providing expert recommendations to maintain the data center's competitive edge and operational effectiveness.
  • Facilitate seamless communication between executive stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring all technology decisions support long-term objectives and maximize return on IT investment.
  • Collaborate with Cloud, Private Cloud, DevSecOps, and Database architects and resources to ensure the development of cohesive, integrated, and cost-effective solutions across the entire enterprise.
