About The Position

As an Enterprise Data Architect, you will make an impact by designing and implementing scalable, secure, and innovative data solutions that enable strategic decision-making across the organization. You will be a valued member of our data and technology organization and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, business leaders, and engineering stakeholders. In this role, you will: Develop and lead enterprise data architecture strategies that ensure data quality, integrity, and security across systems. Implement data governance frameworks that support compliance, regulatory standards, and organizational best practices. Design scalable data platforms and solutions using cloud technologies such as GCP, Azure, and AWS. Oversee data integration, transformation, and modeling efforts to ensure seamless access to high‑quality information. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to teams on data architecture, governance, and best practices. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Oakland, California. Requirements

  • Proven experience developing enterprise-level data architecture and designing robust, scalable data solutions.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with GCP, Azure, and AWS cloud services.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing data governance, compliance processes, and data security practices.
  • Proficiency with scripting languages for data transformation (e.g., Python, SQL).
  • Experience with data integration, modeling, visualization, and applying design patterns for reusable data solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate across technical and business teams to improve data accessibility and decision-making.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), AWS Certified Solutions Architect, or Google Professional Data Engineer.
  • Experience facilitating workshops or training on data governance, compliance, or architecture best practices.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and the ability to evaluate and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data concepts for non‑technical stakeholders.
