The Sr. Data Architect, IT, Data & Architecture will serve as a key leader within the IT organization, driving enterprise technology initiatives to align systems and solutions with business objectives by defining, maintaining, and evolving the organization's comprehensive data architecture framework, emphasizing conceptual and strategic design. This role involves designing and structuring complex, scalable systems and frameworks that prioritize security, organizational alignment, and the consistent application of technology standards and best practices across diverse platforms. In collaboration with ACS architects and cross-functional teams, the position will establish and enforce standards for applications, integrations, security, and compliance within the ACS data ecosystem, while providing strategic leadership on architectural decisions, mentoring junior architects, and spearheading data- and systems-related initiatives to promote innovation and strategic alignment. This is a remote position that can be home-based anywhere within the U.S.

Requirements

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years in data architecture, data engineering, or closely related roles with 5+ years working with cloud platforms for data storage, processing, and security
  • Hands on experience developing data solutions with Azure Data Services, Snowflake, and Salesforce Data Cloud or other CDP platforms.
  • Advanced SQL skills and experience in working in varied source data systems (SQL Server, Snowflake, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Experience with master data management and data quality practices, including identity resolution and reconciliation across multiple systems to ensure data integrity and a single source of truth.
  • Design, operate, and deliver modern data integration and transformation pipelines across CRM, ERP, cloud data platforms, and multiple enterprise systems, supporting batch or near real-time data flows using streaming and change-data-capture patterns within complex financial and transactional ecosystems.
  • Design, model, and optimize large-scale analytical and operational data environments, incorporating performance tuning, cost governance, and the production of model-ready datasets and feature stores to enable analytics and AI, while implementing privacy-safe patterns for advanced analytics and generative AI.
  • Experience with patterns such as microservices, event/messaging, API gateway and versioning, streaming; data DevOps practices including CI/CD for pipelines and models, infrastructure as code, and automated data quality testing.
  • Ability to lead architecture reviews, influence cross-functional stakeholders, and translate strategy into actionable roadmaps.

  • Experience with tools such as Boomi, dbt, Atlan, and ARIS (preferred)
  • Domain experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor transaction flows, and marketing personalization (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the organization's enterprise data architecture roadmap, reference architecture, scalable data models, and integration patterns across Salesforce Data Cloud, Microsoft Data Architecture, Snowflake, and NetSuite; lead the design of data pipelines connecting these platforms with external/internal payment systems.
  • Collaborate with architecture, engineering staff, data scientists, and data analysts on ETL/ELT processes, API integrations, and middleware solutions to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient data movement between operational and analytical platforms.
  • Partner with Data Governance to define and implement data standards, best practices, and governance policies, ensuring alignment with business and technical stakeholders to meet organizational goals.
  • Develop data security compliance controls, including adherence to international, federal, state, and local privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, PCI, GDPR) and alignment with NIST CSF frameworks.
