About The Position

Zurich North America is seeking a dynamic Enterprise Communications Lead to join our Communications team. This new role will report directly to the Chief Communications Officer for Zurich North America and will be based in our Schaumburg or Chicago office. We're looking for a senior communications leader with a proven record of transforming cultures, inspiring employees, and guiding organizations through complex change toward assertive winning mindsets. Beyond broad based enterprise communications experience, the ideal candidate will bring strategic foresight and a deep understanding of change management - preferably in the commercial insurance industry. The Enterprise Lead will be responsible for leading the development and execution of communication strategies supporting business transformation, operating model shifts and large-scale change initiatives. They will be tasked with building a unified employer brand voice that resonates across functions and employee levels. It will be important for this lead to partner closely with HR, executive leadership and business units to ensure employee alignment and engagement through every phase of change. They will work to leverage employee feedback tools, pulse surveys, and behavioral data to inform and improve programs and establish KPls and dashboards to measure effectiveness of engagement efforts. As a Communications team leader, the selected candidate will manage and develop a team of four or more communications professionals to cultivate compelling transformational programs. They will also be responsible for coaching senior leaders on high-impact enterprise-facing communications – especially during moments of uncertainty and help to align leadership to share authentic messaging with organizational goals and employee sentiment. Through establishing themselves as a trusted thought partner with leaders across the organization, they will act as an ambassador for culture transformation efforts tied to business strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Communications or Marketing area to include consulting, organizational change, or employee engagement leadership.
  • OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 9 or more years of experience in the Communications area to include consulting, organizational change, or employee engagement leadership.
  • OR Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 7 or more years of experience in the Communications or Marketing area to include consulting, organizational change, or employee engagement leadership.
  • Experience in communications technology and channel management, including intranet platforms (CMS), direct mail systems, and internal social channels
  • Experience analyzing site data
  • Experience with SharePoint, Salesforce, Photoshop and Adobe Writer

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated success throughout career of leading communication for enterprise transformation programs (e.g., restructures, digital modernization, M&A).
  • Strong grasp of change management principles, employee psychology, and best practices. Prosci training preferred.
  • Commercial insurance or regulated industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and interpersonal influence skills.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity, high-stakes environments, and executive-level decision-making.
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong MS PowerPoint skills
