About The Position

The Enterprise Agile Coach promotes agile and lean adoption and transformation across NiSource. They are accountable for embodying, promoting and supporting organizational agility. The Enterprise Agile Coach will provide mentoring, consulting, and guidance on applying agile and lean values, principles, and practices and their application within the organization. The Coach will utilize his/her in-depth knowledge and experience in the application of agile, particularly Scrum and Kanban practices to inspect and adapt thinking and practices to various situations. In this senior agile position, the Enterprise Agile Coach will be a strategic partner and thought leader for an organization transitioning to agile and lean ways of working. The coach will work with teams (co-located and distributed), leaders, and individuals, helping them to fully understand how to apply agile and lean frameworks and behaviors to deliver technology solutions in a complex utility environment. This position will report directly to the Director, Agile and Delivery Enablement, and will be accountable for the following: Evangelize agility across the organization Influence and lead agile adoption and transformation at NiSource Provide coaching, mentoring, and training at all organizational levels in an emerging agile environment Assess the current organizational delivery environment, recommending and implementing optimal agile, lean, and complementary practices tailored to NiSource's needs Assess the agile health of the organization, and coach teams and management to higher levels of fluency, at a pace that is sustainable for the teams and organization Radiate helpful data and information to the organization, utilizing visual management techniques and information radiators, to report progress of the organization to anyone at anytime

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 10+ years Minimum 10 years of experience in IT delivery, with part of that experience working on an agile team
  • 4-6 years Minimum 5 years of experience working with an enterprise agile transformation, preferably in a lead or agile coaching role
  • A track record of leadership in agile transformation in large organizations
  • Proven knowledge of the application of agile at scale and demonstrated ability to coach and lead the cultural and organizational change to make it work
  • Proven knowledge and practical experience of agile frameworks, values, and practices
  • Strong executive communication and influencing skills, extending not just to the what and how of agile change, but also the why
  • Demonstrated fluency in agile and lean values and principles
  • Demonstrates fluency in multiple agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.) and can teach and uphold these practices with teams and management
  • Demonstrated ability to influence people at all levels of the organization
  • Authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Influence and lead the execution of the agile transformation roadmap
  • Provide agile leadership, mentoring, coaching, and training to Scrum Masters, Product Owners, teams, management, and executives
  • Guide people at all levels of the organization on how to use agile and lean values, agile and lean principles, and agile and lean framework practices to delight customers and build a culture of safety, trust, respect, simplicity, courage, transparency, self-management, and personal accountability
  • Create, build, and deliver customized agile, lean, and complementary training
  • Prepare and deliver effective communications regarding progress and results to all agile stakeholders
  • Recommend, launch, influence, and facilitate agile collaborative groups, Communities of Practice, and agile working groups
  • Stay current on new and evolving techniques, practices, and strategies in agile, lean, leadership, and other complementary disciplines
