IBISWorld is launching a new structured Asia Industry Data product covering 16 major Asian economies, from China and Japan to Singapore and India. This initiative represents a rare greenfield opportunity, backed by significant investment in product development, enterprise integration and commercial expansion—one of the most strategically important growth initiatives in our history. The Opportunity Asia is one of the world’s fastest‑growing yet most data‑fragmented regions. For global banks, consulting firms, investors and multinational corporates, the lack of reliable, standardised industry data has long constrained confident decision‑making across markets. IBISWorld’s Asia Industry Data product solves this at scale. This new platform is our most significant growth initiative in decades. Covering 16 Asian economies and built on the ISIC Rev. 4 framework, this API‑ready product delivers standardised, enterprise‑grade industry intelligence to global banks, consultancies, investors and multinational corporates. The Role We are seeking an Enterprise Account Director to lead the commercial launch of this category‑defining product. This is a greenfield commercial leadership role. You will lead market entry, establish flagship enterprise customers, and embed IBISWorld as a core data infrastructure partner across strategy, investment and risk workflows. Backed by a 50‑year global brand and serious product investment, this is a rare chance to own a category‑defining launch in Asia.

Requirements

  • 8–12 years of enterprise sales experience with a proven record closing $100k+ contracts
  • Demonstrated success in complex, consultative, multi‑stakeholder sales environments
  • Experience selling enterprise data platforms, financial data, analytics or enterprise SaaS solutions
  • Fluency in Japanese and English is essential
  • Experience working across Asia‑Pacific markets
  • Strategic, consultative mindset with strong executive presence
  • High commercial acumen and comfort navigating complex procurement processes
  • Ability to engage confidently on data architecture, APIs, analytics workflows and integration considerations
  • Collaborative, self‑starting and resilient—comfortable building momentum in a greenfield market

Nice To Haves

  • Background at organisations such as Snowflake, Bloomberg, FactSet, S&P Global, Databricks, Refinitiv or similar is highly relevant
  • Familiarity with Japanese financial institutions, corporates or government bodies strongly preferred
  • Broader regional exposure (e.g. Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, India) is an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop and close strategic enterprise opportunities across Asia, with an initial focus on commercial banks, consulting firms, private equity and corporate strategy teams
  • Lead complex sales cycles from first engagement through to contract execution
  • Position Asia Industry Data as a core data infrastructure solution rather than a traditional research product
  • Own revenue targets, including significant expansion of existing enterprise accounts and new logo acquisition
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across strategy, analytics, data, technology and procurement
  • Engage economic buyers (e.g. CIOs, CTOs, divisional leaders) on enterprise‑wide data strategy and the business case for Asia coverage
  • Partner with technical buyers on API delivery, BI integration, ISIC alignment and AI‑readiness
  • Expand adoption across multiple business units, including international desks and cross‑border teams
  • Manage complex enterprise sales processes involving multiple internal and client stakeholders
  • Coordinate closely with solutions specialists, data teams and leadership to support technical validation and proofs of value
  • Lead pilot programs and negotiate commercial terms through to close and handover to Client Success
  • Establish IBISWorld’s first wave of enterprise reference customers for Asia Industry Data
  • Provide structured market feedback to product and leadership teams to inform roadmap and positioning
