About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Enrollment Success & Financial Wellness Senior Advisor to join our team. The Enrollment Success & Financial Wellness Senior Advisor will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by advising students on financial aid options, implementing and maintaining policies and procedures, and engaging in outreach activities to ensure students are aware of available resources.

Requirements

Master’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher). In lieu of a master’s degree, a bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) plus five (5) years of full-time experience in a financial aid office and an active FAAC designation, or a bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) with five (5) years of full-time financial aid experience and active enrollment in a master’s program with ongoing progress toward completion.
Three (3) years of experience in a Financial Aid Office or one year of full-time experience in a Financial Aid Office with 8+ NASFAA Credentials.
Proficiency in using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for large organizations.
Strong customer service skills.
Demonstrated experience presenting, training, or conducting workshops, as well as effectively engaging and communicating with students and their families.

Nice To Haves

Three (3) or more full-time years of experience in a Financial Aid Office.
Supervisory experience in a Financial Aid office.
Seven (7) or more years of progressive experience working with Federal Student Aid and Scholarship programs.
NASFAA Credentials.
Certified Financial Aid Administrator (FAAC) designation.
Experience with Oracle Campus Solutions (PeopleSoft) as a Financial Aid Management System within a higher education institution.

Responsibilities

Lead targeted outreach campaigns to improve FAFSA completion, verification submission, and financial aid readiness for incoming and continuing students.
Monitor and assess the effectiveness of targeted outreach efforts by staff embedded with academic advising, making adjustments to improve FAFSA completion, enrollment, and retention outcomes.
Provide individualized support to students and families to help them understand financial aid requirements, troubleshoot barriers, and complete necessary forms that impact enrollment.
Conduct financial aid reviews to help students with complex financial circumstances remain eligible and on track to enroll.
Collaborate with Enrollment Management partners to meet institutional enrollment goals, identify priority student populations, and address obstacles that may prevent students from finalizing aid.
Offer guidance on financial literacy, paying for college, and next steps in the enrollment process to support yield and retention.
Support office-wide training and service initiatives to ensure consistent, student-centered communication across the team.
Supervise Enrollment Success staff and ensure targeted populations are reached, including students embedded with academic advising units.
Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to staff embedded with academic advising to optimize outreach strategies and enhance student engagement.
Monitor student academic progress to ensure compliance with institutional and federal satisfactory academic progress (SAP) requirements, regularly reviewing grades, attempted and earned credits, and completion rates to determine financial aid eligibility and support overall enrollment goals.
Provide proactive outreach and support to students who are at risk of not meeting SAP standards, including targeted communication campaigns, academic success check-ins, and referrals to campus resources that promote persistence and timely degree completion.
Assist students in understanding how SAP affects their financial aid and enrollment, offering guidance on academic planning, strategies for improving academic standing and completing the FAFSA to maintain aid eligibility.
Implement and uphold SAP policies by communicating requirements clearly, notifying students of status changes, documenting all actions and decisions, and coordinating with campus partners such as the Registrar, Academic Advising, and Student Success units.
Chair the SAP committee by facilitating fair and consistent review of appeals, encouraging collaborative decision making, and ensuring timely evaluations that support students' continued enrollment and compliance with federal and institutional regulations.
Serve as a resource for students, peer counselors, staff, and campus community members to supporting the work of the Office of Financial Literacy.
Assist in the research, design, and implementation of best practices for managing student loan borrowing default and delinquency.
Monitor campus communications and partnerships that expand the reach and services of Financial Literacy program as a whole.
Scrutinize the progress of the program, trends, and developments in financial literacy to identify best practices to enhance the University's program and minimize financial issues impacting retention.
Design, distribute, and provide analysis of digital financial literacy content with guidance of office leadership.
Use analytical skills and tools to evaluate data to inform business decisions. Implement digital financial literacy content to various campus audiences.
Coordinate and communicate a digital learning curriculum for students based on strategic goals. Stay at the cutting-edge of financial wellness education, industry best practices, financial aid regulations and policies, psychology of spending research, and implement the most applicable trends to our campus audiences for maximum behavioral impact.
Design, implement, and facilitate evaluation of programs addressing financial literacy, spending behavior change, and any aspect of financial literacy as aligned with the Office of Financial Literacy’s vision, mission, and goals in collaboration with IT staff.
Review information generated from outreach efforts to present to division leadership and retention leaders on the impact of the financial literacy program.
Conduct one-on-one financial counseling sessions that integrate trauma-informed and intersectional approaches to student services.
Complete trainings and professional development that keep them up to date on industry information and DE&I practices within the profession.
Assist the Director with any tasks, as needed, in the day-to-day operations/ administration of the office
Collect, analyze, and interpret data related to financial aid usage, enrollment patterns, and outcomes for special cohorts.
Produce reports and dashboards to track key indicators, identify trends, and support program evaluation and institutional planning.
Work closely with financial aid colleagues and cross-campus partners to ensure consistent, equitable service for special cohorts.
Participate in team meetings, staff trainings, and professional development opportunities to maintain expertise in policies affecting these populations.
Conduct targeted financial aid workshops and orientations for special cohorts, both virtually and in person.
Perform strategic outreach to ensure timely submission of required documentation for students in these programs.
Support financial aid appeal processes that involve specialized circumstances commonly experienced by these student groups.
Serve as a liaison to departments, schools, and colleges that directly support special cohorts and perform other related duties as assigned.
Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and department mission.
