About The Position

Overview: The Enrollment Specialist plays a key role in building strong mentoring matches by assessing, enrolling, and supporting both volunteers (Bigs) and youth (Littles). This position works closely with families, community partners, and internal teams to ensure a smooth and meaningful enrollment experience. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) or related field.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
Experience in the social services field is preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word).
New York State Driver’s License and the ability to travel across Nassau/Suffolk Counties.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with psychological diagnoses and medications is a plus.

Responsibilities

Enrollment & Assessment Conduct volunteer and youth enrollments, including interviews, orientations, and home visits
Assess eligibility and readiness for participation in mentoring programs
Complete background checks, reference checks, and required documentation
Provide child safety education to families
Relationship Building & Support Engage families and youth awaiting matches through regular check-ins
Collaborate with schools and community partners to generate referrals
Identify and resolve barriers to enrollment
Recommend strong, compatible matches based on assessments
Match Facilitation & Oversight Facilitate match meetings and support relationship development
Monitor matches focusing on child safety, youth development, and volunteer satisfaction
Provide coaching and intervene when challenges arise
Data, Reporting & Quality Maintain accurate records and documentation
Conduct surveys and track program outcomes
Complete match support contacts and reports on time
Conduct exit interviews and assess re-match potential
Collaboration & Community Engagement Partner with internal teams for seamless service delivery
Represent BBBSLI in the community
Support events, trainings, and outreach efforts
Identify potential partnerships and community connections
